CENTENARY CAMP 14 very lucky Guides plus Leaders enjoyed a fun filled week at CAMP CALEDONIA at Netherurd from 17th - 24th July. This camp hosted 1500 guides from across Scotland and the UK and we all took part in many exciting activities! The weather could have been better but we did enjoy some sunny days and had a visit from the Girlguiding President the Countess of Wessex on one of them. The Camp was split into 12 Subcamps, all named after mountains in the world. We were part of Kanchenjunga - (a mountain in India) Subcamp. There were 6 areas for activity choices - Adrenaline, Retro, Talent, Global, Community and Escape Zone. We did overnight hikes , sailing and the high ropes course on the ADRENALINE zone television presenting on COMMUNITY zone took part in Masterchef on the TALENT zone found out how to do backwoodsman cooking on the RETRO zone and we all visited M and D's at the ESCAPE zone!

INVITE 100 We held an INVITE 100 night with over 100 guests for tea, juice coffee and home baking! We had the final of our G Factor Competition and guests & Guides voted for the winners - who were dancers Jana and Samantha, congratulations girls!! Catherine raised over £100 with her Tombola Stall to help pay for her International Camp in Norway in 2 weeks! Entrance was100p!

CHRISTMAS OUTING TO SKI IN EDINBURGH Our Christmas Outing to the Outdoor Ski Slopes at Hillend Edinburgh was a great success...... We were lucky that the weather was good and most guides managed to get onto the Tows after their one hour lesson. There were a few bumps and bruises but everyone had a great time.. Congratulations to Sunita, Eleanor, Evie, Millie, Amber, Gabrielle, Lucy, Lauren, Jessica, Samantha and Julianna who made their promise on the ski slopes... See the photos!

GANG SHOW OPPORTUNITY!! There will be a special Guiding Centenary number in this years Gang Show in October. CENTENARY ADVENTURE We are all looking forward to our Centenary campout at Alton Towers from the 25th - 26th September 2010! The cost of £85 includes coach travel to and from Alton Towers on the Saturday morning, use of the Waterpark the evening we arrive, camping out (bring your own small tent) dinner bed and breakfast and we will return by 9pm on the Sunday evening. Places for this event are now all taken...you have all paid £50 so far, the final payment of £35 was due by the end of June! CENTENARY CAMP
AT FORDELL
30 guides and guiders have just returned from a great weekend at Fordell Firs in Fife. The weather was amazing (apart from Sunday) and we shared the weekend with over 400 guides from around the County. See the photos page... There were also Rainbows and Brownies taking part indoors.. Activities included Abseiling, archery, climbing wall, crate climbing, ropes course, bungee trampoline, go karts, grass sledge, trampoline, orienteering, jacobs ladder, circus skills & much more! 15 guides completed their Camper badge and 5 completed Advanced Camper badge as well!!
